⚡ Signature Abilities
🔥
Mars Fire Ignite
Her baseline fire attack — grows in power throughout the series as she ascends.
🏮
Ofuda Charm (Evil Banishment)
A shrine maiden's purification charm — effective against evil spirits even without transforming.
🏹
Mars Flame Sniper
Super Sailor Mars' fire arrow — precision and destructive power at their highest.
🎨 What Her Look Signals
01
Long black hair
→ Dark contrast to her fire power — the design says her passion burns inward before it erupts.
02
Shrine maiden (miko) robes
→ She had spiritual power before she knew she was Sailor Mars — the robes are the backstory in costume form.
03
Sailor Mars uniform (red)
→ The only true red in the team — strength and passion assigned to the most direct personality.
🤔 Did You Know?
01In the original manga, Rei writes poetry and contributes to her school's literary magazine — a quieter side the anime underplays.
02Her shrine maiden powers stem from her past life as a Sailor Soldier — they manifested long before her official awakening.
03Her father is a Diet member, but she grew up with her grandfather at Hikawa Shrine after her parents' relationship broke down.
04VA Michie Tomizawa voiced Rei through the original anime; Miyuki Sawashiro took over for the Crystal reboot.
💭Personality Deep Dive
Cold and sharp on the surface, with a fire inside that sacrifices first when it matters. Rei is fiercely independent and rarely shows vulnerability. She and Usagi bicker every day — and she's the first to step between Usagi and danger. The toughness is the packaging; the warmth is what's inside.
