🎨 What His Look Actually Means
01
Eyes always closed in a grin
→ A deliberate shield — you can't read him if you can't see his eyes. The perpetual smile is a performance.
02
Xingese-style clothing
→ Marks him as an outsider from a different nation. It also signals his imperial heritage from Xing at a glance.
🤔 Did You Know?
01Ling is the 12th prince of Xing's Yao Clan, who came to Amestris seeking the secret of immortality to survive the imperial succession.
02His VA Mamoru Miyano also voiced Light Yagami in Death Note the same year — two wildly different personalities from the same voice.
03By the end of the series, he becomes Emperor of Xing — his goal evolving from immortality to ruling for his people's prosperity.

A sharp strategist concealed behind a clumsy exterior. What sets him apart from a simple schemer is the genuine care for his people. His appeal lives in the gap between pledging his soul without hesitation and collapsing because he missed a meal.
